Sewing and enjoying a fall day

Have been working on some quilt squares for pillow covers and after I found all those beautiful flower fabrics in my "stash" I decided to make a tote.  It turned out pretty good, I thought, but wonder what I'll do with it.

As I was walking in the park recently I had to take a picture before all the leaves were gone.  It was a beautiful day and sounds like they will soon be in short supply.  I heard on the news today that we might get a "bit" of snow in the coming week.

enjoying October

How lucky to be in Colorado - the sky is blue, the trees are turning yellow, red and orange and the weather is perfect.  The goldfinches at the Community Garden have moved on.  They enjoyed the sunflowers this fall and I kept my feeders full for them all summer.

There is a small lake across from my apartment with a few ducks and geese enjoying this fall day.

The last of the flowers on my patio.

feels like Fall

Finished my sweater and am ready to wear it one of these fall days

Blossom sits by the patio door watching for a fly or maybe a bird

Rudbeckia Triloba one of my favorite fall flowers - it just continues to bloom until the first frost or maybe the first snow

Skies are really beautiful these days

Taking a walk at Denver Botanic Gardens, Chatfield

One of many places to stop "and smell the flowers"

Planting more wonderful flowers.  Talked to this lady for a few minutes and she told us she is in charge of the flower planting - has worked for DBG for a number of years.  A beautiful place to visit.

Gardens in July

A great day checking out the Pea Patch garden after the rain  I picked a few beets that will be tender and good for my lunch.  Then I went to Hudson Gardens with a friend to see how the Herb Garden was doing and noticed this little guy just waiting to have his picture taken.  His Momma was nearby having her breakfast of thyme and whatever else looked good.
What a great picture of a rainbow taken from a friends house after the rain.  Also, note the Goldfinch Feeder just ready for the birds to come.

SOME OLD, SOME NEW

Here are some OLD dolls from the past.  They are sitting on a quilt that I made a few years ago done completely by hand.  It has a good home with my daughter; looks like the dolls are happy.

This is a  NEW sweater  I started knitting recently.  Hopefully I will have it finished by the end of the summer.

This is Alyssa, my great granddaughter - what a sweet smile.  She is my grandson Peter's daughter.

This is Sophia, also one of my great granddaughters.  She is my granddaughter Anna's daughter; they live in Perth, Australia.  This is the "uniform" they wear to school.  She isn't particularly happy about the hat, but it is necessary to protect delicate skin from the hot Australian sun.

Another great granddaughter - Maddison lives in California.  She is my Grandson Lee Danielson's daughter.

I will show my great grandsons another time.
Although I have never met these great children, but  I'm looking forward to it perhaps the summer of 2015.
It's time don't you think?

Checking the flowers on the patio

Blossom is inspecting the patio garden, patiently waiting for the screen door to open so she can go out and get a better look!

These are the poppies and my small rock garden at O'Toole's Garden Center this spring.
