bird watching, listening

With this warm weather, I had my windows open last night and this morning Miss Robin surprised me with her wakeup song.  That put a smile on my face before I ever got out of bed.  The robin was sitting in a tree outside my window and although I didn't have my camera, this is probably what she looked like.
There was lots of bird watching to be done at the lake by the Littleton Museum where I take my walk, so camera in hand, here are some birds I saw:

It is definitely mating season as all the ducks are staying close with their mates.
This female wood duck looks like she is very popular!!  There were actually three males around her, but they wouldn't stay still for a picture.

These mourning doves sat in the tree and I think they knew they were getting their picture taken.  Oh what a wonderful sound they have.  Spring!!!!

  2. Thanks Peggy; I love hearing the birds - couldn't catch the flighty chickadee, but heard him. Also, the peacocks are mating now at the museum and so much fun to watch them strut around showing off.
